Documentary by Shosh Shlam | 84min | D, IL | 2025
Over 69 million children in China grow up without their parents – left behind in villages while their parents work in distant cities. Fourteen-year-old Qui Che lives in the mountains of Yunnan Province with his grandparents, separated from his brothers and mother. He writes his feelings in his diary – quietly, poetically and full of longing. His dream is to become a singer. Free guitar lessons at his music college bring him a little closer to this dream.
A story about loneliness, hope and childlike optimism.
